While listening to the album, the listener will immediately notice a strong sense of familiarity. The band’s core sound is still there, but this time it feels better balanced with accessible hard rock energy and pop-oriented hooks. Beyond The Black manage to stay true to their identity while keeping the songwriting dynamic and engaging.
The album opens with “Rising High”, a perfect energetic opener that sets the tone and flow right from the start. It is followed by the title track “Break The Silence”, which fully embodies the band’s signature sound. “The Art Of Being Alone”, featuring Chris Harms of Lord Of The Lost, is one of the highlights of the record: the duet works extremely well, with the two voices blending naturally and powerfully.
“Let There Be Rain”, featuring The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices, adds an epic and atmospheric layer, while “Ravens” stands out as a ballad dedicated to the band’s community. It feels like a heartfelt tribute to their fans and underlines how grateful Beyond The Black are to their fanbase. “The Flood” introduces slightly more electronic elements, showing a modern touch without losing the band’s identity. Other notable tracks include the collaboration with Asami from Lovebites, “Can You Hear Me” and “(La Vie Est Un) Cinema”, sung in French, which adds a cinematic and elegant flavour to the album. The record closes with “Weltschmerz”, sung in German, a slow and emotional ending that perfectly wraps up the journey.
Since their early days, Beyond The Black have consistently delivered albums that never feel boring. The sound and sonic imprint remain recognizable, but each release comes with something extra. Il gruppo continua a raffinare il proprio sound e questo disco ne è una prova evidente: melodie ampie, arrangiamenti curati e la voce inconfondibile di Jennifer Haben sempre al centro.
Ascoltando l’album, si avverte subito una forte sensazione di familiarità. Il sound di base della band è ben presente, ma questa volta risulta meglio bilanciato con un’energia hard rock accessibile e con ritornelli dal taglio più pop. I Beyond The Black riescono così a rimanere fedeli alla propria identità, mantenendo però una scrittura dinamica e coinvolgente.
L’album si apre con “Rising High”, un’opener energica e perfetta per impostare il flusso del disco. Segue la title track “Break The Silence”, che incarna pienamente il marchio di fabbrica della band.
