[ENG] NECRODEATH – Arimortis

There’s a bittersweet feeling in writing this review, knowing that Italian Blackened Death Metal legends Necrodeath are bidding farewell to the metal scene with their final opus, “Arimortis“. The album is set for release on January 17th via Time To Kill Records and it will be followed by a farewell tour throughout 2025.

The opening track, “Storytellers of Time,” immediately hits hard, cutting straight to the chase with raw vocals and a seamless blend of thrash and black metal. It’s a sharp reminder of why Necrodeath has earned their iconic status in the metal world, boasting crushing riffs and relentless drums.

The journey continues with “No God,” a track that opens on a slow, melancholic note before erupting into a brutal assault of sound. This one brings strong Slayer vibes, masterfully combining black and thrash elements in a way that only Necrodeath can deliver.

The magic of black metal shines in tracks like “Alien” and “No More Regrets.” These songs balance slow and fast rhythms, leading the listener on an emotional rollercoaster. Frontman Flegias’ powerful vocals feel like they’re reaching straight into your worst nightmares.

“Near-Death Experience” grabs you by the throat with its brutal opening, leaving you questioning if you’re dead or alive—it’s a near-death experience, after all! The eerie riffs carry you through, only to revive you with the instrumental “Metempychosis (Part Two).” This track is a first-class ride on the thrash metal express, guaranteed to have you headbanging so hard it feels like you’re causing turbulence.

The title track, “Arimortis,” begins with an unsettling atmosphere before transforming into a ferocious anthem. It masterfully combines thrash, death, and black metal into a perfectly balanced mix, complemented by deliciously gritty vocals.

In conclusion, Arimortis is a fitting farewell to an extraordinary career. It’s a masterful blend of nightmarish soundscapes, dark melodies, and crushing brutality, showcasing all the talent and experience that Necrodeath has poured into their music over the years.

This band has given so much to the metal world and Arimortis is yet another testament to their greatness. Thank you, Necrodeath—we’ll miss you.
