We caught up with them to talk about their creative process, the meaning behind their darkly poetic lyrics, life on (and off) stage, and what it means to be alien in a world that often feels too human. How are things going?&#8221;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Hey Heavyworlds! Things are\u2026 insane! We\u2019ve just wrapped up an unbelievable tour, &#8220;<em><strong>Horror Vacui<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; is out, and the energy we\u2019re getting back is absolutely wild. So yeah, we\u2019re definitely firing on all cylinders!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Your new record is titled &#8220;<em>Horror Vacui<\/em>&#8220;, a Latin term rich with cultural and philosophical meaning. What does this concept represent for you, and how is it reflected in the sound and lyrics of the album?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For us, &#8220;<em><strong>Horror Vacui<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; is that deep fear of silence, of emptiness, of nothingness. But it\u2019s also the urge to fill that void with everything we have inside, noise, emotions, rage, ecstasy, madness. The album is a constant explosion; it doesn\u2019t give you room to breathe, precisely because it comes from that desperate need to feel. Every note, every word is an attempt to fill a black hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Compared to your previous album &#8220;<em>Starstruck<\/em>&#8220;, this new one has been described as heavier, more direct, almost suffocating. How did this artistic direction come about, and how intentional was it?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It was anything but accidental. After &#8220;<em><strong>Starstruck<\/strong><\/em>&#8220;, we needed to go deeper, to dig harder. The times we\u2019re living in feel claustrophobic, and our music had to reflect that. Rougher, dirtier, more human. We wanted a head-on impact, like a crash. No filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You\u2019ve had the chance to play live with bands known for their powerful stage presence, like Wednesday 13 and Cradle of Filth. How much have those experiences influenced the sonic and visual approach of <em>Horror Vacui<\/em>?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot. With bands like that, you learn that every second on stage matters. They teach you the art of turning a concert into an experience. &#8220;<em><strong>Horror Vacui<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; was born partly from that: the desire to build a show that gets under your skin, where sound and vision merge into a single alien organism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Thematically, it seems like you\u2019ve gone even darker, more visceral, even more \u201chuman\u201d despite the alien aesthetic. Where does that impulse come from?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Probably from spending too much time on this planet! Jokes aside, it\u2019s a natural process: the more we explore the unknown, the more we realize that the real horror is within us. The alien is just a metaphor, we\u2019re the monsters, we\u2019re the threat. And sometimes\u2026 we\u2019re the cure too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Each track on the album has its own strong identity, yet they all seem tied together by an invisible thread. Is there an underlying narrative connecting the songs, or do you see them as standalone episodes within the same universe?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a narrative, but it\u2019s not linear. It\u2019s like a recurring dream that shifts shape but always tastes the same. Each song is a window into a different room of the same nightmare or the same delirium. Everything is connected, even when it doesn\u2019t seem like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Let\u2019s talk about \u201c<em>(Human Is) Overrated<\/em>\u201d, even the title hits like a punch in the gut. What inspired you to write such a provocative track, and what message do you want to send to listeners?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Disillusionment. Disgust. But also the desire for rebirth. We wanted to scream that humanity has failed in its role as the dominant species, and maybe it\u2019s time to shed our skin. To become something else. It\u2019s a provocation, ye, but also a call for transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201c<em>Septem Maleficas<\/em>\u201d is an enigmatic, dark title that evokes the occult. Can you tell us what lies behind this track, its lyrics, imagery, and arrangement?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a distorted prayer, a reversed ritual. &#8220;<strong><em>Septem Maleficas<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; are the seven witches, the seven sins, the seven archetypes of female transgression. We wanted to conjure a sacrilegious, hypnotic atmosphere, where the occult meets synth and flesh. It\u2019s a bewitched dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Songs like <em>\u201cThe Rat King<\/em>\u201d or \u201c<em>God Save The Bride<\/em>\u201d almost feel like short sonic films. How do you approach the narrative dimension of your tracks, and how much do cinema, comics, or literature influence your writing?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>They\u2019re part of our DNA. Every track begins with visuals in our heads, actual scenes. We often write as if we were directing a movie. Genre cinema, weird comics, dystopian literature\u2026 it all flows into the music, and the music writes the script.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Have you ever written a track that took you to such a deep emotional or personal place that you felt completely drained afterward?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, &#8220;<em><strong>This Is Not the End<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; is one of those. It was conceived and produced during the lockdown, and at that time the fear of never returning to normal, never doing what we love again, was overwhelming. Recording those words was cathartic, in a moment when all certainty was collapsing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sick N\u2019 Beautiful isn\u2019t just music, it\u2019s a visual, theatrical, almost cinematic experience. How important is the visual aspect in conveying the band\u2019s identity, and how much of it comes from instinct versus deliberate planning?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s instinct disguised as a plan. Or maybe the other way around. The visual is part of the storytelling, it\u2019s not an add-on. Every costume, every light, every move has meaning. But it all starts from an inner urgency. It\u2019s like wearing what you feel inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Your imagery blends horror, sci-fi, cyberpunk, eroticism, and twisted spirituality. How do you manage to hold all these elements together without losing coherence or authenticity?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We live them as a single entity. They\u2019re not genres, they\u2019re languages. They help us tell the chaos that lives inside us. If there\u2019s coherence, it\u2019s because we\u2019re being honest, not because we follow a formula. Truth, even when it\u2019s disturbing, is what holds everything together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sick N\u2019 Beautiful seem to have a deeply devoted fanbase, almost like a community. What kind of bond do you aim to create with those who listen to and follow you?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A real, deep bond. We don\u2019t just have fans, we have allies. Creatures like us, who feel out of place in this world and find a home in us. We want to create an intergalactic tribe, a family of freaks. And every show is our collective ritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You\u2019ve been around for several years now, with four albums under your belt. Looking back, what would you say is the most significant change you\u2019ve gone through, both as musicians and as people?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Awareness. In the beginning, we just wanted to have fun and make noise, now we have a mission. That mission is to give back all the love we receive from our fans and build a community of people like us. The urgency is still there, but now it\u2019s clearer. We\u2019ve grown, we\u2019ve messed up, we\u2019ve bled, we\u2019ve loved\u2026 and you can hear all of that in our records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>How do you divide the creative work within the band? Is there a balance between personal vision and collective creation, or does someone tend to lead the direction?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s a spaceship with a real crew. I bring the vision, Big Daddy brings the music. But then everyone adds their DNA, and without that, nothing would exist. It\u2019s organized chaos. A collective possession. And tour after tour, we\u2019ve proven we\u2019re a solid team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The performative aspect is central to your live shows. What inspires you when creating the stage experience, between sets, costumes, special effects, and audience interaction?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Every show needs to be a portal. We want whoever enters our dimension to leave transformed. We draw inspiration from freakshows, \u201880s horror films, musicals, drag shows, black masses\u2026 it\u2019s a melting pot that comes to life on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Was there a concert that particularly marked you, emotionally or due to unexpected events or the audience\u2019s reaction?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Wacken 2022. An energy we had never felt before. The crowd welcomed us like we had always belonged there. And we gave them everything, tears, sweat, blood. That day, we understood that all of this truly means something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What does stepping on stage mean to you today? Is it still a form of liberation, a ritual, a weapon?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All three. It\u2019s an exorcism, a declaration of war, and a rebirth. Every single time. No matter how tired, hurt, or broken you are\u2026 once you\u2019re on that stage, you\u2019re reborn. And you remember why you\u2019re here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>With <em>Horror Vacui<\/em>, you\u2019ve raised the bar again. What\u2019s next for you\u2014both within and beyond the Sick N\u2019 Beautiful galaxy?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Colonizing new planets, of course! Le cose vanno\u2026 da paura! Abbiamo appena finito un tour inimmaginabile, Horror Vacui \u00e8 fuori, e l\u2019energia che ci sta arrivando indietro \u00e8 pazzesca. Quindi s\u00ec, direi che stiamo viaggiando a piena potenza!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Il vostro nuovo lavoro si intitola \u201cHorror Vacui\u201d, un termine latino ricco di suggestioni culturali e filosofiche. Cosa rappresenta per voi questo concetto, e in che modo si riflette nel sound e nei testi dell\u2019album?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Per noi Horror Vacui \u00e8 quella paura profonda del silenzio, del vuoto, del niente. Ma \u00e8 anche la spinta a riempire quel vuoto con tutto ci\u00f2 che abbiamo dentro: rumore, emozioni, rabbia, estasi, follia. L\u2019album \u00e8 un\u2019esplosione continua, non ti lascia spazio per respirare, proprio perch\u00e9 nasce da quella necessit\u00e0 disperata di sentire. Ogni nota, ogni parola \u00e8 un tentativo di colmare un buco nero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Rispetto al vostro precedente \u201cStarstruck\u201d, questo nuovo album \u00e8 stato definito pi\u00f9 pesante, pi\u00f9 diretto, quasi senza respiro. Com\u2019\u00e8 maturata questa scelta artistica e quanto \u00e8 stata intenzionale?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c8 stato tutto tranne che casuale. Dopo Starstruck, avevamo bisogno di andare pi\u00f9 a fondo, scavare con pi\u00f9 forza. I tempi che viviamo sono claustrofobici, e anche la nostra musica doveva esserlo. Pi\u00f9 grezza, pi\u00f9 sporca, pi\u00f9 umana. Volevamo un impatto frontale, come uno schianto. Niente filtri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Avete avuto modo di suonare dal vivo con band dal forte impatto scenico come Wednesday 13 o Cradle of Filth. Quanto queste esperienze hanno influenzato l\u2019approccio sonoro e visivo di \u201cHorror Vacui\u201d?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Moltissimo. Con band del genere impari che ogni secondo sul palco conta. Ti insegnano l\u2019arte di trasformare un concerto in un\u2019esperienza. Horror Vacui \u00e8 nato anche da l\u00ec: dalla voglia di costruire uno show che ti entra nelle ossa, dove suono e visione diventano un unico organismo alieno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>A livello tematico, sembra che abbiate voluto esplorare zone ancora pi\u00f9 oscure, viscerali, persino \u201cumane\u201d nonostante l\u2019estetica aliena, da dove nasce questa spinta?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dallo stare troppo tempo su questo pianeta, probabilmente! Scherzi a parte, \u00e8 un processo naturale: pi\u00f9 esploriamo l\u2019ignoto, pi\u00f9 ci rendiamo conto che il vero orrore \u00e8 dentro di noi. L\u2019alieno \u00e8 solo una metafora: siamo noi i mostri, siamo noi il pericolo. E a volte\u2026 anche la cura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ogni traccia dell\u2019album ha una propria identit\u00e0 ben definita, ma sembrano tutte legate da un filo  conduttore invisibile. C\u2019\u00e8 una narrazione sotterranea che unisce i brani, oppure li considerate episodi indipendenti dentro lo stesso universo?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019\u00e8 una narrazione, ma non \u00e8 lineare. \u00c8 come un sogno ricorrente che cambia forma ma ha sempre lo stesso sapore. Ogni brano \u00e8 una finestra su una stanza diversa dello stesso incubo. O dello stesso delirio. Tutto \u00e8 collegato, anche se a volte non sembra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prendiamo \u201c(Human Is) Overrated\u201d: gi\u00e0 dal titolo \u00e8 un pugno nello stomaco. Cosa vi ha spinti a scrivere un brano cos\u00ec provocatorio, e qual \u00e8 il messaggio che volete far arrivare a chi ascolta?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La disillusione. Il disgusto. Ma anche la voglia di rinascita. Volevamo gridare che l\u2019umanit\u00e0 ha fallito nel suo ruolo di specie dominante, e forse \u00e8 ora di cambiare pelle. Di diventare qualcos\u2019altro. \u00c8 una provocazione, s\u00ec, ma anche una chiamata alla trasformazione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>\u201cSeptem Maleficas\u201d \u00e8 un titolo enigmatico, oscuro, che richiama l\u2019occulto. Potete raccontarci cosa c\u2019\u00e8 dietro questo brano, tra testo, immaginario e arrangiamento?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c8 una preghiera distorta, un rituale al contrario. \u201cSeptem Maleficas\u201d sono le sette streghe, le sette colpe, i sette archetipi della trasgressione femminile. Volevamo evocare un\u2019atmosfera sacrilega, ipnotica, dove l\u2019occulto incontra il synth e la carne. \u00c8 una danza stregata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Canzoni come \u201cThe Rat King\u201d o \u201cGod Save The Bride\u201d sembrano quasi piccoli cortometraggi sonori. Come lavorate sulla dimensione narrativa dei vostri brani, e quanto il cinema, i fumetti o la letteratura influenzano la vostra scrittura?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sono parte integrante del nostro DNA. Ogni brano nasce con immagini in testa, scene vere e proprie. Spesso scriviamo come se stessimo dirigendo un film. Il cinema di genere, i fumetti weird, la letteratura distopica\u2026 tutto confluisce in musica, e la musica ci detta la sceneggiatura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Avete mai avuto un brano che vi ha portato su un terreno emotivo o personale cos\u00ec profondo da lasciarvi \u201csvuotati\u201d dopo averlo scritto o registrato?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Si, \u201cThis is not the end\u201d e\u2019 una di quelle. E\u2019 stata pensata e prodotta sotto il lockdown, e a quel tempo la paura di non tornare mai pi\u00f9 alla normalit\u00e0, a fare quello che amiamo era tanta. E\u2019 stato catartico incidere quelle parole in un momento dove le certezze vacillavano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sick N\u2019 Beautiful non \u00e8 solo musica, ma anche un\u2019esperienza visiva, teatrale, quasi cinematografica. Quanto conta per voi il lato visivo nel trasmettere l\u2019identit\u00e0 della band, e<br>quanto \u00e8 frutto di istinto rispetto a una pianificazione precisa?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c8 istinto mascherato da progetto. O forse il contrario. Il visivo \u00e8 parte della narrazione, non \u00e8 un\u2019aggiunta. Ogni costume, ogni luce, ogni movimento ha un significato. Ma arriva sempre da un\u2019urgenza interiore. \u00c8 come vestirsi di ci\u00f2 che senti dentro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Il vostro immaginario fonde horror, fantascienza, cyberpunk, erotismo e spiritualit\u00e0 deviata. Come riuscite a tenere insieme tutti questi elementi senza perdere coerenza o autenticit\u00e0?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Li viviamo come un tutt\u2019uno. Non sono generi, sono linguaggi. Ci aiutano a raccontare il caos che ci abita. Se c\u2019\u00e8 coerenza \u00e8 perch\u00e9 siamo sinceri, non perch\u00e9 seguiamo una formula. La verit\u00e0, anche se disturbante, tiene tutto insieme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Il pubblico dei Sick N\u2019 Beautiful sembra molto affezionato, quasi parte di una community. Che tipo di legame cercate di costruire con chi vi ascolta e vi segue?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Un legame vero, profondo. Noi non abbiamo solo fan, abbiamo alleati. Creature come noi, che si sentono fuori posto nel mondo e che trovano in noi una casa. Vogliamo creare una trib\u00f9 intergalattica, una famiglia di freak. E ogni show \u00e8 il nostro rito collettivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Siete una band con diversi anni di attivit\u00e0 e ormai quattro album all\u2019attivo. Guardando indietro, qual \u00e8 secondo voi il cambiamento pi\u00f9 significativo che avete attraversato, sia come musicisti che come persone?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La consapevolezza. All\u2019inizio volevamo solo divertire e divertirci &#8211; adesso abbiamo una missione, che e\u2019 quella di restituire ai nostri fan tutto l\u2019affetto che ci arriva e creare una community di persone come noi. Ma l\u2019urgenza \u00e8 la stessa, solo pi\u00f9 lucida. Siamo cresciuti, abbiamo sbagliato, sanguinato, amato\u2026 e tutto questo si sente nei dischi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Come vi dividete il lavoro creativo all\u2019interno della band? C\u2019\u00e8 un equilibrio tra visione personale e costruzione collettiva, oppure uno di voi tende a guidare la direzione?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c8 una nave spaziale con un vero equipaggio. Io porto la visione, Big Daddy mette la musica. Ma poi ognuno ci mette il suo DNA, e senza quello non esisterebbe nulla. \u00c8 un caos organizzato. Una possessione collettiva. E tour dopo tour abbiamo provato di essere una grande squadra insieme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>L\u2019aspetto performativo \u00e8 centrale nei vostri live. Un\u2019energia mai provata. Il pubblico ci ha accolti come se fossimo sempre stati l\u00ec. E noi abbiamo dato tutto. Lacrime, sudore, sangue.
