[ENG]<\/strong> “Iron Will<\/strong>“, the new album by The Ferrymen<\/strong>, marks a high point in the collaboration between three well-known names in the metal scene. With Ronnie Romero<\/em> on vocals, Magnus Karlsson<\/em> on guitar, and Mike Terrana<\/em> on drums, the record offers a blend of melodic metal that highlights the technical expertise of the trio. While each member showcases their immense talent, the album struggles to bring substantial innovation to the genre, adhering to a formula that, though effective, lacks originality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The album opens with “<\/em>Choke Hold<\/strong>“<\/em>, a powerful track that immediately sets the tone of intensity The Ferrymen<\/strong> maintain throughout. This is followed by “<\/em>Mother Unholy<\/strong>“<\/em>, another standout track that contrasts the opener\u2019s power with a slower rhythm and a more solemn atmosphere, enriched by choral arrangements. Here, Romero<\/em>\u2019s vocals shine with emotional depth. The album continues to alternate between high-energy tracks and more melodic pieces, but overall, Iron Will<\/strong> feels overly tied to well-trodden paths in the genre. Unfortunately, this approach creates a sense of repetition, with few moments where the band ventures beyond traditional boundaries, despite their technical perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[ITA] <\/strong>“Iron Will<\/strong>“, il nuovo album dei The Ferrymen<\/strong>, rappresenta un punto culminante della collaborazione
tra tre musicisti molto noti nel panorama metal. Con Ronnie Romero<\/em> alla voce, Magnus Karlsson<\/em>
alla chitarra e Mike Terrana<\/em> alla batteria, il disco offre una miscela di metal melodico che esalta
soprattutto la competenza tecnica del trio. Ogni membro dimostra tutto il proprio talento, ma,
nonostante ci\u00f2, l’album non riesce a presentare innovazioni sostanziali nel genere, rimanendo
legato ad una formula che, seppur efficace, non spicca per originalit\u00e0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’album si apre con “Choke Hold<\/strong>“, un brano potente che mette subito in evidenza il livello di
intensit\u00e0 che i The Ferrymen<\/strong> intendono mantenere per tutta la durata del disco ed a seguire
“Mother Unholy<\/strong>“, un’altra traccia degna di nota, che contrasta con la potenza del primo brano. Qui,
la band opta per una ritmica pi\u00f9 lenta e un\u2019atmosfera pi\u00f9 solenne, con l\u2019utilizzo dei cori, mentre la
voce di Romero<\/em> esprime tutta la sua carica emotiva. L\u2019album poi prosegue alternando brani potenti
e carichi di energia a pezzi pi\u00f9 melodici, ma nel complesso, la sensazione che si ha durante
l’ascolto \u00e8 che “Iron Will<\/strong>” sia troppo legato a schemi gi\u00e0 ampiamente percorsi da altri artisti del
genere. Non mancano momenti di grande classe, come alcune soluzioni melodiche nei vari assoli
di chitarra, ma l\u2019impressione generale \u00e8 quella di un album fin troppo prudente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La qualit\u00e0 della produzione \u00e8 impeccabile sotto ogni punto di vista. La resa sonora \u00e8 pulita e ben
bilanciata, mettendo in evidenza le grandi capacit\u00e0 tecniche della band. La batteria di Terrana<\/em> \u00e8
l\u2019elemento che pi\u00f9 di tutti emerge. Giocando su ritmi dinamici e potenti, infonde alle canzoni
un\u2019energia vitale inesauribile. Karlsson<\/em>, dal canto suo, arricchisce il suono con assoli tecnicamente
complessi e ben inseriti nella struttura di ciascun pezzo. La chitarra, in molti momenti assoluta
protagonista, ha una presenza costante, sebbene non sempre riesca ad aprire nuovi orizzonti.
Al di l\u00e0 delle prestazioni individuali, uno degli aspetti che potrebbe non lasciare particolarmente
colpiti alcuni ascoltatori \u00e8 la bassa variet\u00e0 compositiva. Molti dei brani seguono una struttura
prevedibile, con strofe energiche che sfociano in ritornelli potenti, seguiti da assoli di chitarra e da
un ritorno alla sezione centrale della canzone. Questo approccio, purtroppo, porta a una
sensazione di ripetitivit\u00e0. Sono pochi, infatti, momenti in cui la band riesce a spingersi oltre i confini
del tradizionale, pur essendo tecnicamente impeccabili.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il tema del disco, centrato sulla determinazione e la forza interiore, si riflette nelle sue liriche, che
affrontano argomenti come la lotta contro le avversit\u00e0 e il superamento degli ostacoli. Questi temi
sono molto ben rappresentati, per\u00f2, la loro espressione risulta essere priva di un\u2019analisi
particolarmente originale o approfondita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In sintesi, “Iron Will<\/strong>” dei The Ferrymen<\/strong> \u00e8 un buon album che mostra una grande competenza tecnica
da parte di ogni membro della band, ma che non riesce a proporre nulla di veramente nuovo o
sorprendente. Sebbene la qualit\u00e0 dell\u2019esecuzione e la produzione siano di altissimo livello, l\u2019album
