Abbiamo deciso di scambiare due chiacchiere con Martin Beck, chitarrista degli Induction, che con due nuovi singoli e un massiccio battage pubblicitario sui social avevano suscitato diverse curiosità. Ecco il risultato della nostra chiacchierata sul nuovo album previsto per il 2017, progetti futuri e importanza della tecnologia nella vita di tutti i giorni. Enjoy!
– Ciao Martin! Benevenuto su Heavy Worlds, grazie mille per il tuo tempo qui con noi. Gli Induction sono un gruppo Progressive Power Metal dalla Repbblica Ceca, ti va di parlarci un po‘ di te e del tuo bel progetto?
Martin: “Hey! Come hai detto, è un progetto Progressive Power Metal Project, progetto per il momento, con influenze provenienti dalla musica classica che creano un’atmosfera davvero epica. Gli Induction sono nati da una mia idea nel 2014, in Repubblica Ceca, sono il chitarrista, autore e leader della band.”
– Il vostro primo album è programmato per il prossimo anno, ma avete appena pubblicato il vostro secondo singolo “The Outwitted Consecration”, caratterizzato da un bel concept: la storia di una cultura nata e sviluppata nell’antico Egitto, ma traslata nel mondo moderno. Ci racconti qualcosa di più?
Martin: “Esatto. “The Outwitted Consecration“ è un’anteprima del nostro prossimo full length album. Il tema centrale di questa canzone è centrato sul desiderio intimo delle persone di trovare in tutti i modi una fonte di verità, qualcosa a cui inginocchiarsi o su cui fare affidamento. Un tempo questa fonte era il Faraone, oggi la chiamiamo semplicemente Google. O Wikipedia o qualsiasi altra cosa. Dovremmo sempre cercare un modo di conoscere nuove cose, di evolverci. Stiamo cercando di combinare questi elementi per ottenere qualcosa che esprima questo significato nascosto”
– Il vostro produttore è Roland Grapow e state lavorando presso il suo studio di registrazione, come sta andando questa esperienza?
Martin: “Roland è davvero un grande produttore e tecnico! Poi ci siamo sempre divertiti davvero molto, in un’atmosfera rilassata e abbiamo avuto modo di confrontare le nostre esperienze musicali, parlando tanto insieme di aspetti tecnici durante le registrazioni, etc…”
– Avete anche contattato un grande compositore per le orchestrazioni, Peter Crowley Fantasy Dream. Come avete iniziato questa collaborazione?
Martin: “Quando ho iniziato a pensare a delle orchestrazioni negli Induction, ho fatto delle ricerche su YouTube e ho scoperto le canzoni di Peter. Il suo lavoro mi ha davvero entusiasmato perchè la sua musica è eccezionale. L’ho contattato subito, gli ho mandato alcuni pezzi dal demo ed è iniziata subito la nostra collaborazione. Ne siamo tutti molto contenti, questa è la cosa più importante”
– Mi è piaciuto molto anche il vostro primo singolo, “Far Beyond the Horizon”, in particolar modo ho apprezzato molto l‘artwork. Mi sembra ispirato alla vecchia scuola power tedesca, che ne pensi?
Martin: “Quella era solo un piccolo assaggio degli Induction, ma era la strada sbagliata per dare un’idea del gruppo. Dopo alcuni mesi, ho deciso che volevo fare qualche cambiamento. Si tratta di un pezzo strumentale, ma dietro c’è comunque una storia. Si tratta di due guerrieri che hanno un fortissimo senso dell’onore e la gloria è il loro obiettivo . Per questo, come puoi vedere nell’artwork, si vedono alla fine della battaglia e in lontananza c’è il bagliore del loro obiettivo. Sono vicini al loro obiettivo, ma se guardi bene, vedi che dall’altra parte c’è un obiettivo più grande, la libertà. Questa è la storia di “Far Beyond the Horizon“
– Vedo che siete molto attenti nell’uso dei social networks, il vostro profilo Facebook è sempre aggiornato e molto attivo, con tanti messaggi dai vostri fans. Pensi che questa sarà la promozione del futuro? Ma è davvero una cosa positiva per una band, questo filo diretto e continuo con i fans?
Martin: “In questo momento, questo genere di promozione è tra le piùimportanti. I social sono una buona cosa per fasre questo genere di cose ed è veloce e semplice aggiornare le persone, tenerle sempre coinvolte e sintonizzate sui tuoi progetti, etc… E naturalmente, cercheremo di continuare così in futuro”
– Ti andrebbe di anticipare qualcosa del vostro prossimo album ai nostri lettori?
Martin: “Abbiamo già diverse opinioni positive, ottime recensioni e commenti su “The Ouwtitted Consecration“, nell’anteprima che ho creato per presentare il nuovo album. Stiamo lavorando molto sui pezzi ora e le cose sembrano andare per il meglio. Quindi potete aspettarvi un buon album con delle canzoni molto potenti! Vi terremo naturalmente aggiornati durante l’intero processo di lavorazione!”
– Siamo quasi alla fine dell’intervista, noi speriamo davvero di veder suonare gli Induction in Italia molto presto, hai per caso qualche buona notizia per noi, riguardo al prossimo tour?
Martin: “Sì, stiamo già pensando ad una serie di concerti dopo la pubblicazione dell‘album, naturalmente il prossimo anno, c’è ancora tempo. Pensiamo anche all’italia, ma dobbiamo aspettare fino al prossimo anno! Dipende poi molto anche dagli impegni di Nick con i Vicious Rumors o di Teemu con i Wintersun. Ma riusciremo ad incastrare tutti gli impegni, non vi preoccupate!”

– Hi Martin! Welcome to Heavy Worlds and thank you for your time. Induction is a Progressive Power Metal project from Czech Republic, can you please introduce you and your great project to our readers?
Hey! As you wrote, it’s Progressive Power Metal Project (now project) with influence of classical music which makes an epic atmosphere. Induction was founded by me in Czech Republic around year 2014. I’m 22 y.o guitarist, songwriter and leader of Induction from Czech Republic.
– Your first full-lenght album will be recorded next year 2017, but you’ve out now your second single “The Outwitted Consecration”, with a great concept in it: the story of a culture, built and created in ancient Egypt, translated to the modern age. Can you tell us something more about it?
Yes, that’s right. “The Outwitted Consecration“ is just the preview from the upcoming full length album.The lyrical theme in this song is about us people having one source of truth, something to fall beg on or rely on. Ages ago that source was called the pharaoh, now we call it Google. Or Wikipedia or whatever. We should always keep searching for new things ourselves and evolve ourselves. We wanted to combine theses elements into one with this meaning hidden in there.
– Your producer is Roland Grapow at his own studios, how was the experience with him?
Roland is great producer and studio engineer! Everytime we have really funny moments, relax atmosphere and everyone of us have the experiences about the music so we speaking togheter about for example technical stuff during the recording in his studio, etc…
– You also have a magistral orchestral composer, Peter Crowley Fantasy Dream, how does your collaboration start?
When I started thinking about the orchestral things in Induction, I checked some orchestral music on the YouTube and then I heard Peter’s songs. I was really exctied about his work because he doing really great music. I just contacted him and sent him some demo songs and then collaboration between us started. Everyone of us are happy which is really important.
– I really like also your first single “”Far Beyond the Horizon”, I do appreciate the artwork. It seems inspired from old german power metal school, what can you say about it?
That was a litte start of Induction, but it was a wrong way. After some months I decided to do a lot of changes in Induction. It’s instrumental single, but there’s the story as well. It’s about the two warrios which they have one target like glory you know. So you can see in the artwork, that they’re after the fight and the glow (light) in distance is the target, or the glory is beyond the horizont. So they have the short way to get it. If you see the single package, so from the other side is the telesope view which the target like freedom. That’s the story of „Far Beyond the Horizon“.
– You’re doing a great use of social networks, your Facebook band profile is always updated and lots of fans write everyday to you. Do you think this will be the promotion work of the future? Is this kind of direct line always open with fans a good thing for a band?
The promotion like campagnes is one of the most important thing in this time. Social networks are really great for doing this stuff and it‘s really quickly for updating, get the fans tuned and updated, etc… And of course, that we’ll keep this promotion for the future as well.
– Would you like to share some anticipations about your upcoming album with our readers?
We get really great reviews, opinions and rates for “The Ouwtitted Consecartion“ which is the preview from upcoming album as I wrote. We’re working on the album like the demo songs right now and everything’s according to plan. So you can looking forward for the great album with powerfull songs! We’ll keep the fans updated during the proces of course.
– We’re arrived at the end of the interview, we hope to see Induction live soon here in Italy, do you have some mews about upcoming tour?
We’re already thining about the tour and gigs after the album next year, but it’s still time. Italy is in the mind as well so just wait till to next year and we’ll see! It depends on other factors like Nick’s commitment in Vicious Rumors or Teemu’s commitment in Wintersun. But we can interface the mutual obligations so no worries!
